Hannah Vance was born and raised in Palm Beach, Florida, moving to Orlando 5 years ago to continue her studies. She is a first-generation college student and will be soon graduating with her degree in Integrative General Studies & minor in Hospitality Management from the University of Central Florida. In 2018, Hannah found out that she had failed her classes and was at risk of being unable to continue her degree at UCF. She had been on edge, distant, not sleeping, impulsive, and overactive, all of which were generally unlike her. It was at this point that she recognized this and that she needed to reach out for support.
Now diagnosed with predominantly hyperactive-impulsive ADHD and a generalized anxiety disorder, Hannah has realized how little mental health is talked about and the growing stigma surrounding the discussion. Now, she has made it her mission, as Miss Florida for America, to spearhead those conversations with the hope to de-stigmatize the topic, and helping to educate, support, and advocate for those struggling with mental health disorders. She looks forward to working with different mental health organizations including the Victoria’sVoice Foundation which advocates for substance abuse awareness to prevent addiction & save lives!
The Mrs. America organization has a rich history dating back as far as 1938. This renowned national competition has won numerous pageantry awards and is recognized as the premier MRS pageant. The organization epitomizes excellence, celebrates family values and professionalism, and honors the beautiful, poised, articulate, women that are "America's greatest natural resource-the contemporary married woman" (David Marmel, President of Mrs. America).
Now the organization has added a new title "Miss for America". The National competition will coincide with the Mrs. America pageant in Las Vegas on the legendary Elvis Presley stage. Miss for America seeks to celebrate the unmarried woman who has obtained personal, professional, and community achievements.
The inaugural Miss Florida for America pageant will coincide with our Mrs. Florida America pageant May 18-19th at Westgate Resorts in Orlando. The winner will receive an all-expense paid trip, including airfare, to compete at Nationals.
